Recent Results: Saturday, 3 September – Orroral Graded Scratch

The weather was fine but the course was a bit intimidating, so only 47 lined up for battle with the terrain. Forty finished, and the tough guys prevailed: congratulations to Ian Downing, Reinhard Mauch, Owain Tilley, Vince Dunn, Bob Kent, Bob Egan and Mike Spoljaric. Kirsti McVay, Angela Wren, Sue Frost and Angelika Mauch all toughed it out with the old warriors to keep the femmes' flag flying. Many thanks to Rosemary Robinson and her assistants, Elton Ivers, Linda Banks, Graham Hendrie and James Meredith, who made the race possible.

Race results are available on the Race Management System: http://rms.actvets.cc/

AVCC News

We have recently been approached by Cycling Australia who are prepared to allow AVCC licence holders to participate in their Masters Cycling Championships in Ballarat from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 October (entries close 5.00pm on 21 September). The Executive has no objection to any of our members participating, and indeed as you will know, many of our members already hold dual licences. For your information, the day licence will cost $44, and the nomination fee per event (criterium, road race and time trial) is $55 per event. Anyone wishing to take up the offer will have to quote their licence number and to produce it at the championships. The stipulation is that entries will have to be made on a manual entry form that can be downloaded from their website: http://www.cycling.org.au/?ID=42157

You might also be interested to know that we recently received an answer to our request for our bodies to set up mutual recognition of disciplinary sanctions. CA has agreed that they are prepared to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, with the rider that the national body will endorse this, but that the understanding will be between the respective state bodies within each state. You will be informed of any further developments on this subject.
