Marshals for Race Day:

There has been some healthy discussion around the perennial topic of volunteers for marshalling duty on race days. The simple fact is that without Marshals we cannot race. Road approvals and insurance requirements dictate that we must have the prescribed number of marshals on each course.

In order to ensure that we can carry a complete race program, every club member should think about volunteering for a couple of races each year, to ensure that the club program can continue.

If you are prepared to assist, please contact the Race Referee before the weekend so that they have an idea of how many marshals they have available.

2013 Registration:

The National AVCC online registration system (IMG) is now available to process renewals and new memberships for 2013. No membership details have been loaded into the new system. You will need to enter all your personal information this year. Next year, you will be able to use your login so you won’t have to re-enter your details.

To register, use the following steps;

· Go to the website: https://memberdesq.imgstg.com/index.cfm?OrgID=10244

· Select ‘New Registration

· Select the State and Club, then press ‘Next >>

· Select the membership type, then press ‘Next >>

· Agree the Terms and Conditions, then press ‘Next >>

· Enter your personal details, then press ‘Next >>

· After a couple of confirmation pages, Enter your credit card details (Visa or Mastercard) then ‘Submit Payment’.

You will then receive Emails confirming details about your registration and providing you with a logon and password that you can use to update your details in future. Note that once you have registered, you can change your logon name and password to something a bit easier to remember.

It is no longer is it possible to join the club with cash/cheque at race registration or using the EFT option prior to race registration. Please note that new members will also need to join using the online registration system prior to commencing racing.

Every endeavour will be made to download payment information into our race management system before race days but sometimes this may not be possible. Therefore, if a new member (from 27 November) or renewing member (from 1 January) pays online, just before race day, then proof of payment must be produced at registration before being allowed to enter the race to ensure that insurance cover has been activated. In this case, please bring along a printed copy of the confirmation Email to confirm registration.

For any new members, who had already signed up since 1 October using the old payment arrangements, your details will be uploaded into the new system manually. You do not need to register online.

If you have any questions or difficulties with registration please contact: membership@actvets.cc

Criterium Race Report – 4th December

There was a brisk breeze blowing across the track last Tuesday evening as 115 riders lined up for the racing.

Unfortunately, collarbone corner struck again with one of the F Grade riders failing to negotiate the bend and went off the edge of the track resulting in a broken clavicle.

The breeze took its toll on the bunches with many of them breaking up in the strong cross wind.

Thanks to Henry Beaverstock and Graham Hendry for support as the race director, Doug Widdup, had to leave early for family reasons.

Lookout Hill Time Trial – 9th December

An cool early Sunday morning start saw 38 riders turn up to compete in an unfamiliar event, a 31km time trial from Lookout Hill to Apollo Rd and back.

With some changes to the Age Standard grading, it was going to be interesting to see how the new grading changed the balance.

For the Men, Paul Angelatos (-3:40) took the event as one of only three riders to beat their age standard time.

In the Women’s, Biance Mauch was the best at +6:46 against her age standard.

In the Tandems, Peter Granleese and Elton Ivers took the honours at +9:51.

Thanks to Chris Short for Race Refereeing and to Bruce Jones, Graham Hendrie, James Jordan and Henry Beaverstock for assisting.
