RACE REPORT:

Old Federal Highway Handicap (Tulip Farm)

On a sunny windy afternoon fifty three weekend warriors came to the Gravel pit for few hours of suffering.

The G grade went first. Being only four brave souls they did not have much of a chance.

F followed and having more riders they were somewhat more upbeat. .All grades went hoping for the best, having some misunderstanding for the first turn, which was few kms too short. All grades came back together at the turn on the Old Federal Hwy.

The wind and the long hill after the Tulip Farm changed everything! At the completion of the first turn/ lap all the grades were broken apart: E grade was at the front having caught G and F grades. Small bunches of riders came and went. C grade were few and B grade had five riders working hard three minutes down the front of the race.

When A turned at the completion of the first lap, only two riders were working together and had a couple B grader in their wheels,. They were only five minutes down. The bet were on A grade to win but it was not to be.... A brave C grader arrived just few seconds at the front holding off the chasing bunch .

I would like to thanks the Marshals: Braham Hart, Peter Harding, James Cruden, Steven Simms, Peter Marshal, Dale Kleeman, all did volunteered early in the week which made things very easy for me. Specials thanks to James Meredith and Henry Beaverstock , who did the registration and the timing..

Thanks to Alain Arbaut for refereeing.
