Marshal Roster
As you are aware the club operates with a reliance on its members to contribute to the running of the various races. As such it is expected that each member should attend at least two races a year and assist by acting as a marshal. These duties are not particularly onerous and normally consist of manning a turn point or assisting at the start finish.
Unfortunately not all members have met this commitment in the past couple of years and it keeps falling on the same small number to provide assistance.
As such the Race Committee has decided to instigate a roster of members and assign them a race. Marshals assigned to the further NSW regional races can still request a payment to cover fuel costs if they undertake lead and follow car duties.
This roster will be found on the website under the Referees & Marshals Tab.
If you unable to make the date that you have been rostered the obligation is on you to find a replacement. It is recommended that you look at the roster and make your plans accordingly.

Final Track Session
This Thursday (27 March) will see the conclusion of the Track Racing Season at Queanbeyan Park. There will be a single scratch race (6.00pm) followed by a BBQ and presentation. As many trackies as possible should attend, as we intend to discuss preferences for the 2014-15 season when we will have the refurbished Narrabundah track and Queanbeyan Park as options.
Snags, sauce, bread & drinks will be supplied. BYO salad and nibbles.
All welcome.

Lookout Hill Graded Scratch – 22nd March
On a sunny pleasant afternoon we had 57 riders turn up for the Lookout Hill Graded Scratch. Noting the racing started at 4:00pm the course was basically two laps (Lookout, short turn, Pt Hut, Short turn, Pt Hut , Lookout) a distance of approximately 30kms that was completed by all grades.
A grade was a small group of five that maintained a solid pace, with the riders finishing with clear margins. First was Charles Nicoll with second and third going to Marc Vroomans and Michael Hanslip. While B grade was one of the larger groups (11 riders), the first two places were hotly contested with Peter Young taking the win from Rowan McMurray in second place while Ben Toyne was third. In C grade it was a very close sprint finish with Steve Schwenke in first place closely followed by Mark English and Mark Taylor in second and third places. D grade was another close finish between the first three riders with Ashley Sked taking the win from Jan Koehler and Brian McGlynn.
In E grade the largest group of the day (13 riders) and also the closest finish on the day, Tony Beasley managed to prevail for the win from Ian Albrey in second place while third was Ally Roche. F grade was a small group of four riders that finished with clear margins. First was Ian Morton while second and third went to Garry Moffitt and Luke McGowan. In G grade they had a good group of eight riders and the finish between first and second was close with Lindsay Graham taking the win from James Meredith, third was Jing Huang.
Many thanks to the marshals, Henry Beaverstock (the master of timing and organisation), Tom Hartley, Michael Carr, Matthew Kinch, Ben Robey, Rico Fitch and Felix Pirie and our first aid officer Brad McDonald.
Thanks for Peter Klein for Race Refereeing
